How did UAE solve its water problem with a smart trick?

UAE is one of the richest countries in the world. Today, I'll tell you a story about how did UAE solve its "lack of water dilemma".

Water Water No where!

It only rains 10 days a year in UAE and it has no natural river bodies and oasis to meet its water demands.

There's no water for humans or animals, and they faced a hard time to survive in such a humid and hot climate.

The salty water from the sea cannot be used for drinking because it eventually dehydrates the human body leading to death.

But, this country found water! How?

They collected seawater and set up factories to extract salt and get fresh water from the sea. Every day billions of gallons of water are cleaned in those factories after being desalinated.

That's not the crazy part

They created fresh water on their own! How?

They sent planes to clouds and released salt (they had a lot of salt due to the desalination factories) and that salt made the cloud grow bigger and bigger.

The clouds rained a lot of freshwater into the country. This is called cloud seeding

In 2017, they did this every single day and when the water fell from the clouds, they built a dam to collect it!

They made a lake and this water is pure and drinkable which keeps millions of people alive.

This water would have originally rained in the sea and become salty but they collected it before it could even happen.

Isn't that smart?

From desalination to cloud seeding to dam building to well building - they no more lack water in their country.
